I use dvd copy 2 by intervideo and make a dvd from a pioneer dvd-rom to the dvd burner(Sony8x burner). All goes well for the burn process and disc pops out when finish. When I play the disc it says in my sony dvd player that the disc is dirty and I can't play it although it plays in a panasonic dvd player but with many errors such as can't play special features or it doesn't go directly to the menu and starts playing the movie when first place in. Any body else have similar problems? These are a dvd-r disc.
Well you should know that doing a Disk 2 Disk copy will usually result in Buffer Underrun errors and Corruption of the data so it is allways good to let the Disk get copied to your Hard drive First and then copying the Data to your DVD-R, You might also try burning at 4X and not 8X....Cheers
buffer under-runs are not really an issue if you have burn-proof enabled on your drive, but its better to rip to the HDD and copy back to DVD-R
You can still Get Buffer Underruns even with Buffer Underrun Protection enabled on your Drive, All It takes if your Source Drive to stop sending data for about a second and you will get a Buffer underrun even with Buffer underrun Protection...With CD-R"s you will not get them much because the Flow of Data from Drive A to Drive B is Not very High, but with DVD"s it is Different because the Data Flow is very High and all it takes is your Source Drive to hit a Spot on the DVD were it has a Problem reading and WHAM your Copy is Ruined..CD-RW Drives usually have a 2mb Buffer but when Company"s started Makeing DVD Drives they didn"t increase the Buffer size in Most cases...(Accept for Sony which has a 8mb Buffer) And that is why doing Disk to Disk Copies with DVD"s Can cause Problems especially when your doing other stuff on your PC while copying..either way it is better to be safe than sorry....
