could be a dma issue so i would like you to try and provide the nero log off you r next burn. When was the last time you did a defrag, virus check, spyware check of your system. viruses and spyware are notoriuos for causing pcs to slow down If you dont do a regular defrag all the clutter from the amount of data that is transferred between dvds and your pc also can cause a slow down to the time frame you are getting at the moment.Try doing the defrag. 3 options so far see how you go. guy
thank you for your interest, guy! my pc is extremly fast no virus spyware etc. always checked and I have good programs to avoid... once I upraded to nero 6, then I uninstalled it, reinstalled the old one, and made a registry cleaning for it (not the one of nero utilities) 'cause when I reinstall the old nero 6, it acts like the upgraded one, then it turned back to normal after registry cleaning. could it be a registry problem? Should I clean one more time with a nero utility? thanks a lot
try using the clean tools for starters.If you dont think its spyware or virus maybe defragging may solve the issue

Thank you for your reply. Burning from hard disk with nero 6 SE and also via DVD shrink using the nero 6 SE has no problem, the burning speed is high. I think I have problem with DVDROM with on-the-fly. But it was not so before, cause I made many burns succesfully (high speed) with on-the-fly in the past. Any ideas?
Burning on the fly is probably the least reliable method for burning there is. Your read drive has to read at least twice as fast as you are burning. There are so many variables to take into consideration that any number of things could produce a coaster. Burn Slow, about half the rated speed of the media. Use quality media from Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Maxell (MIJ).
actually a dvd burner thats 16x is actually burning roughly at the same speed of a cd burner going at 52 x.............. try burning your dvds at 8x to see if you can improve on the consistency and if not , then at 4x
