I'm getting a new computer and I decided to buy a MAC. How can I copy a DVD? I copied all my DVD's so when I travel on the road I don't worry about loosing a movie.

BTW I'm talkin about hollywood movies.

You can use a program called "Mac the Ripper" (just google it)

This will extract what is called a video_ts folder from the dvd.

Once you have the video_ts folder, you can then burn it back to a blank dvd using toast (or probably some other freeware app)

Alternatively, you could use handbrake to convert the dvd to a ditigal file (mpeg4 or divx) to just keep on a computer. "Handbrake" is a good application for that.

And this is illegal if you live in the US (because of the DMCA)

Not sure if this still helps (because your sig says you got a dell). Poor choice :p

Also there is a nice app. called Fast dvd copy. i use it alot, it also does PS2 games. Toast can also burn movies/Video_TS files that have no encryption (example would be you download a movie and burn the files you downloaded since the encryption has been taken out.)
