DVD data problem

    hey im trying to burn a 8.15GB lot of data onto a 8.5GB dual layer dvd and i have a dual layer dvd burner but for some reason i cant do it. it says i need a bigger disk. it seems to me that it is 450MB less than the capacity so it should work. pls help

    Hi cremos
    A dual layer actually only holds 7.95 gig - then give or take a meg or 2 for the lead in/lead out.
    So yes you will need to reduce it down to fit to the disc.

    Just like a single layer dvd5 will only hold 4.38 gig.
