I have been trying to build up enough courage to try DVD Rebuilder and CCE. I decided to start by not burning a DVD with DVD Shrink and try out Decrypter and Nero Recode 2.

I put the MY OWNED movie in my DVD ROM, opened up Decrypter, and used file mode to decrypt and put on my hard drive. After that was all done, I opened up Nero Recode 2 and selected Copy entire DVD to DVD. I then browsed to the folder where I had Decrypter put the files.

I then got rid of all of the audio, except the top one, and dumped the Extras, via disable. I just let the picture they suggested take the place of whatever was supposed to be there. I also compressed the Menu files a tad, and then burned to my media.

I gotta tell you, it went off without a hitch, AND I still had functioning menus when I tested the movie on my DVD player connected to the television.

The only thing that I was a bit puzzled with, is when the DVD came on the television, the first screen that I got was "This Movie has been removed", or something to that effect. I don't know if this is normal, but it did go past that screen, and all else was normal.

Now for my question. LOL Is this the proper way to use Nero Recode 2? It certainly was easier than I thought, and I thank the people who have posted in this forum for all of the input that I have read. It encouraged me to try something new.

Oops, one other question. :) I have not checked the quality of the picture vs DVD Shrink. Is it better with Recode2?

Gramps, my good buddy flip referred me to you(while laughing at me I suspect), cos I do push recode quite a bit, especially with newbies. Recode and shrink have the same group of people, thus the simularity, recode as you noticed retains menu function, which right there makes it better in my book. I also think, if you've noticed in my threads, it has better pic quality. It is extremely user friendly and I like the pic substitution for deleted extras. In a lot of progs when you delete if you use that link in the menu the video dies, prompting the viewer to restart and remembering not to click on that link again. By putting something in it's place recode allows you to continue, which is why you got the pic(btw it says this video has been removed not movie) and continued on. It sounds like you did alright and as you play with it you will become more adept. It's pretty simple, huh? It is much more simple and faster than rebuilder/cce, but the results with that are fantastic. If you do start working with rbldr/cce you owe it to yourself to pick up a little app called DVDRemake. It is the best re-authoring tool I've ever seen and all of us in the test group are using it. You will be pleasantly surprised, it works with most other video programs as well, I use it with Pinnacle InstantCopy 8 and Intervideo's DVDCopy 2 as well. Good luck and congrats.
