    No Booby-trap at all.

I think you're burning too fast. Adjust your burn speed to 4X to rid yourself of errors. Keep away fron Ritex 02 dye appand use the Ridata 03 or 04 dye apps.

Almost forgot – Go to “Tools,” settings, ISO write tab and un-check “Lock volume – Exclusive access”. That way you can open the drawer anytime you want J

    Pete

PS. In the main window, un-check "verify". That causes more errors than it can catch.

Thanks for the reply!!! sadly, we're only halfway there...I'm sure the lock volume access thing will work...but I WAS burning at 4x:-(. Months ago I could burn at 8x with very minimal problems and 4x flawlessly....problems started with the batman begins ps2 backup which would get to 36-37% and then just "timeout semaphore".... everything since then has also hung up as well. (Ps2 only). again, divx/mpgs, dvd's etc still burn flawlessly....I'm about to try burning at 1x just to be sure....
And this is the same media that I successfully burn about 20-25 other backups on, so I dont tink that's it...(maxell dvd+r) but to be safe I've tried 3 other types to no avail...
P.S. "verify " was already unchecked....

O.K. People....just tried to burn with 1x....no good, same error....starts burning....the write speed indicator goes faster and faster...then it ramps down to "writing at 0kbps" and the timer keeps going, but nothings writing!

LOL, I wasted about 30 discs on this problem.
    good luck i tried everything
I made my external burner into a internal.
Well that fixed the problem for a little while.
I ended up solveing the problem by useing decrypter to read
and nero to write.LOL sorry I cant help more.
There is other free burning programs out there.
It feels so good to know Im not the only one with this problem.
by the way check out scubapetes website go to pc basics theres some good stuff in there.
And as far I know, seen, and was told, That nothing is illegal to copy or backup as long as you own the orignal. Ask the fbi tho they might say differnt.

Wow! It's a small consolation to know that my problem is not limited to just me!! Fortunately I stopped at about 25 coasters, but thats still to much. I'm very tempted to just buy another DVD burner but 2 things scare me:
1)you say the change to an internal burner only worked "for a while"
    2) it was working perfectly before...what's to say the new one wont wonk out too???

I'm a little distressed here....I have nero, what settings/options do you use to burn ps2 ISO? I've tried a kerbillion things, including changing DMA/pio whatchamacallit settings....no good. So many things in fact that I cant remember if nero failed me too already....(I hope not!!).

For the guy asking about burning PS2....I only endorse backing up games you own. :)
Final question...when did your errors start? Was it also right at the time DVD Decrypter got shut down??? I'm thinking trojan horse or something....

Yep see if nero works, I also want to Add I just did a pc restore and redownloaded everything I had on my pc and decrypter works like a charm. I have heard a couple people say external burners have problems alot of the time. sorry I cant be of more help.
Maybe we downloaded something that had a conflict with decrypter.

You knw I thin that's probabl what our problem is, too bad I have no clue as to what caused the conflict, I download so much stuff.

Which option/screens should I select in nero to burn a ps2 iso?

    thanks fr all your help!

This may have nothing to do with what you are experiencing but since the DVD Decrypter site was forceably shut down and all code confiscated, it might be a good idea to turn off the option for DVD Decrypter to look for new versions at startup. I could see them finding a way to use that to screw up the software. I am not saying they are doing it now but it could be used later, if they chose to.

    Just a thought.

Just a bit too much rumor there and about zero fact.

Lighting_UK wrote a letter to donators, friends, and several forums / Bulletin boards the day that he was asked to remove DVDD from the net. A lawyer's representative came to his home and gave him the choice of removing his web site and any locals where he had made DVDD available in addition, he was not to work to improve or to support the program under penalty of a law suit. Upon consulting with legal council, he decided to comply. No "code" was ":confiscated." The site wasn't "forcibly" shut down. The choice was Lighting's and he made it, that's it.

It's a shame how rumors begin and how they spread. Nothing at all was done to DVDD. It is as clean now as it was when we used it freely. When the program "looks" for updates, it merely goes to a site that isn't there. There isn't anyone lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce on you if you were to look for that site. MPAA can prosecute pple for copying copyright protected DVD's and for uploading them to the internet BUT there is no law against visiting a site whether active or not. To date this is not Germany in WWII times.

Also, to date, DVD Decrypter is IMHO, the finest decrypter shareware on the Internet today, fully capable of ripping any DVD encryption currently used today worldwide. It will be quite sometime until this proggy will die it’s death.

    I say, Live on DVDD, live on . . . .

    Cheers,

    Pete

    Huuummm,

I was so concerned to set the record straight I almost forgot ~

You would be hard-pressed to find a better ISO burner for burning DVD's OR ps2's.

    Burn on Decrypter, burn on . . . .
