I recently downloaded rip it 4 me .I thought that it was all I needed to burn dvd's! While I was searching for answers, I saw something about a dvd shrink and dvd decrypter I should have downloaded first! 2 questions, is any dvd decrypter compatable ? and will it work if I download it AFTER the rip it 4 me! OK one more important question...where is the most TRUSTED SITE to download from?
    Thanks, Stacey

1.) Ripit4me is an old program, no longer updated.

2.) Dvd Decrypter is an old program, its new version is imgburn.

3.) Dvd shrink is used to compress dvd files onto a dvd-5 disk.

4.) Downloading a movie file, it may come in a different file format that NONE of the named programs will work on.

5.) Most of the trusted sites to d/l are private sites, that you need an invitation to.....and which asking for one here is against the rules.

    @ sta123

You Do need to download & install Shrink and Decrypter First, so Ripit will Know where they are on your Computer. Just un-install ripit or just delete it. Then install shirnk and Decrypter, then reinstall Ripit. Although it is an aging Program it is still worth Having. I almost always use it. If I Have a DVD that it won't Back-up I use DvdFab Hd Decrypter The Link to it is in my Signature it is also free

    Decrypter:

You can Download Dvd Shrink from this Site Just go to Downloads, I think it is the First Software listed.

You may want to check Loco’s The Ultimate DVD backup resource thread.

I still use RipIt4Me (and yes it uses DVD Decrypter to rip.), Shrink and ImgBurn for my convenience (because it runs FixVTS automatically). It works for most titles. Some new titles with new copy protection, I have to use DVDFab to rip (Usually I have to update to latest version.). For those tiles, you’ll find the thread here at aD how to deal with it.

    Good luck!

You Don't Have to use Fixvts if you use Ripit.
    But with DVDFab it's Reccomended.
