Working with Xp sp2, Descrypter 3.5.4.0 I changed my burners from Pioneer 106 to Nec-3520A. Now can not use Descrypter because it does not recongnize the new drive in the Source block. Any ideas on how to correct this problem?
bbmayo, thank you for the prompt reply. Yes, all other programs using the burner are fine, just descrypter. Took your advise uninstalled and reinstalled, did not help. The Source still states "No Devices Detected", a error message will appear with "Error i/o" and a lot more. Do have Aspi running and ok. The log states Windows 98 and I am in windows Xp sp2. also searching for SCSI/ATAPI devices. In device manager it has IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers for on board NVIDIA NFORCE 2 SPP/IGP ATA Controller. Would any of this help you?
Try going into your device manager and uninstall all of your IDE controllers. Then restart the computer and see if that works.. Can you paste your log file in here?
If I uninstall my IDE controllers how am I going to get them back? I 09:40:40 DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 started! bbmayo, Sure hate to keep bugging you, don't really need decrypter I can use Shrink and Nero. Just would like to have decrypter working for the tough movies. Did as you suggested to uninstall IDE controllers, rebooted, this time I did get "Found New Hardware", the controllers did come back in device manager, no yellow question marks. This did not help decrypter though Source --- "No Devices Detected" If you would like to quit this thread, I will understand, just taking up to much of your time, sorry.
Its no problem thats what I am here for Anyway it sounds like another program has a hold of your drive. What else do you have installed? INCD by Nero? AnyDVD? DVD 43? Roxio Direct CD? Anything like that by any chance?
Yes, I had ANYDVD on a 21 day trial and removed it a few days ago. In checking I found a few pieces still in the search, and removed them. Also had Nero and had removed it a few weeks back, in search found a few pieces and removed them. Since uninstalling Nero I have been using Cyberlink Power2Go for burning. The others you mentioned have never used. Have not rebooted yet, should get off this thing. Will continue this tomorrow
bbmayo, Good Morning On start-up have the same "No devices detected" This new burner I have installed is a NEC - 3520A, would it help if I flashed this drive? Have never preformed a flash, is it dangerous and do you have a guide for flashing?
Flashing your drive is no big deal and every manufaturer has different ways to flash so your best bet is to just read what it says at the manufacturers website. There really is no harm in flashing your drive as long as you use the right firmware for your drive. I don't believe that would be your problem though. Try uninstalling any software that has to do with CD or DVD's I mean everything players and burning software a like. Then reboot and install only DVD Decrypter and see if it will recognize your drive then. I have this same drive so i know its not a problem with the drive and Decrypter. Get another copy of Decrypter to try also maybe you got a bad download. There is a link in my signature to software you will find it there.. Good luck and keep me posted
bbmayo, Back again Have tried to follow all of your post, no help with decrypter. Have removed every thing that I can find, have also removed Cyberlink all except "Cyberlink Multimedia Launcher", seems I am unable to delete this file. Have you any more thoughts on this? Did use you link to install decrypter.
