Hi folks, As you already know, (deep) analyzing, ripping, decrypting, and compressing a DVD-9 movie from a 2x-6x DVD-ROM drive using DVD Shrink takes forever. The deep analysis alone takes half an hour, let alone the extraction, decryption and compression. It takes forever because the DVD drive's a bottleneck. My question is whether there's a way, say using DVD Decrypter, to dump the contents of the DVD onto a HDD, then have DVD Shrink work off the HDD? For this to be effective, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink should not do any duplicate work. And since Decrypter would work off the DVD, and Shrink would work off the HDD, it would make more sense to have DVD Shrink do the decryption. Is it possible to have DVD Decrypter dump the contents of the disk as they are, and have DVD Shrink do the decryption in addition to everything else? Cheers, mers Side note: It would also help to somehow instruct DVD Decrypter to only copy over what's needed, instead of having it blindly copy all 8+ GBs.
Well That is the way it should be Done...Compressing directly from the DVD in the DVD-Rom drive is a Good way to wear out your Drive in a Hurry ..You should allways Extract the Files off of the DVD first useing something like Smartripper or DVD decrypter then I suppose DVD shrink could do the compression from the Hard disk, This should also be very Fast as I know On my PC I can compress a Whole Movie in about 15 minutes after ripping to my Hd which takes about the same time.....Cheers
