I have an error that says
    encryption detected
    file: vts_02_0.vob
    lba: 3104465
This disc is not supposed to be protected by css/cppm so this is somewhat strange!
Would you like to try and decrypt the encrypted data?
Note: If you click "yes" or "yes to all" and it fails try again "no" or "no to all"

Now when i do either yes or no it finishes decrypting and when I open the files in DVD shrink it says

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Invalid data in the file "C:/.......VTS_02_0.VOB

What does this mean and is there anyway around it to get the movie done?

Download the trial version of Anydvd if you don't have it. Then run Anydvd behind DVD Shrink and try that disc again. Don't use Decrypter on this try. See if that works.

    @ flangie hi :)
i've had this same error 3 times. it means that regardless of what the seller has said , the disc is a copy, and usually on crap media
anyway after trying several ways of backing up these discs the solution for me was to
OPEN the disc with shrink, after it is analysed (2 to 3 mins tops)
provideing it gets through that stage.
just hit backup and let DVD Decryter do its thing by its self
    do nothing fancy with shrink
    hope this helps
