Hi, this is my first time to rip dvd. I used RipIt4Me as recommended on this site; the instructions are very helpful. I could viewed the first DVD but it doesnt have a menu...must have missed the rip mode. So I rip it again; and I cant view any of the dvd content. A message did appeared in the DVD Decrypter log; Failed to read Sector 241744 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error....I hit ABORT and Failed to decrypt VTS_02_0.VOB! appeared again but DVDDecrypter didnt stop, so I assume its was alright. When it finish ripping, FixVTS didnt pop up....how do I let FixVTS to start processing? Couldnt see it in the RipIt4Me preferences....Is that necessary? All I did is backup the dvd into my hard drive with DVD Shrink and burn with DVD Decrypter. I wonder if its the error that cause the viewing problem....any advise is very much appreciated. Thanks, Allie
i would say yes, the problem rip hasnt helped you... all the apps you mention i think are free, ripit4me i think isnt made any more or updated? so wont cope well on mewer dvd ripping, try i think its called DVDFAB decryter i think is free and favoured here by alot of people... myself i use ANYDVD running in the background, then use dvd shrink to rip, works for me so far.
heres a guide to use ripit4me http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110 and no its not updated anymore but still works on most newer movies or you can use dvdfab decrypter to rip the movie dvd shrink to transcode then imgburn dvd decrypter or nero to burn (all freeware) clonedvd 2 + anydvd is the easiest option http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/
Hi, Thanks for all of your advice. I tried to rip with AnyDVD and DVDClone2 but the quality is bad, couldnt watch it at ease. So I installed DVDFab and when I open the file, a message pop up recommending to comply with its processing's speed....after my comp restart, I follow the prompts but my drive couldn't read the disc at all even when I tried to open thru My Computer. Do you think my DVD-RW Drive is broken??
the quality should't be bad with clonedvd 2 + anydvd. are you using good media and burning at 8x max? you could try a firmware update for you're drive/burner also http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php yes the drive could be bad . can you try it in another PC?
