I am getting an I/O Error while i'm using the Decrypter.
    This is what it says:
    Device:[0:0:0]Plextor DVDR PX-172 1.07 (H:)(1394)
    ScsiStatus:0x02
    Interpretation:Check Condition
    CDB:25 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    Interpretation:Read Capacity
    Sense Area: 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 3A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    Interpretation: Medium Not Present

and it ends up with either RETRY or CANCEL

So what does this mean? Also, what do i do b/c i have my dvd-r inside my external burner and it fails to burn the copy of the movie that i have in my hard drive. I am wasting a dvd-r.. thx for all of your help friends.....

    Fujifilm DVD-R 2x (TAIYOYUDEN..)
    Fujifilm DVD-R 4x (ProdiscS03)

k i know the media code now. it's Prodisc F01.. And i use the fireware so some of the discs r doing ok but some not. I got these at best buy 100pk $40.00 today 2. Man. I should of gone for the vertabim 8x dvd+r 100pk for $42.00 at Sams club. Well, i'm going to see on how many of this batch ends up good out of 100. Thx for your help it's most appreciated on this end. Also, was wondering is it possible to to make my decrypter burning faster then 1.9x b/c it's taking like 30mins to burn a dvd-r? I mean does changing the Pio to Dma work for external firmware burners? I have a Plextor Px-712Uf external burner that is that connects with IEEE 1394. thx.

i know DMA isn't an issue with USB burners, but proper external or firewire drives, not sure. Don't suppose you use Nero ?, as i like delving thru Nero logs to find the causes of stuff like this..

    lisa32,

My guess is your problem is media related. I have read of some problems with the prodisc F01's. If you decide to pick up some of those verbatums from Sams, make sure it says azo dye on the label to assure you are getting those made by MCC.

PIO, DMA settings only apply to IDE interfaced drives and will not apply to external USB or firewire drives.

Try some better media and I bet your problems will be solved. Maybe you can take the fuji's back.
