DVD Decrypter issue?

    Hello,

    Here is my problem.
I first used DVD Decrypter (latest version) to decrypt a DVD to my HD.
I then used Nero to burn the VIDEO_TS folder to a DVD dual layer disk.
Once I tried to see the movie on my home dvd player, I'm just stuck in the menu. To way to see the movie. For some movies, I just can't see the menu at all...

    So where is the issue?
    -DVD Decrypter?
    -NERO?
    -Media I used?

    Thanks,

    Olivier.

    Hello,

First, may I ask why you are using an extra program? DVD Decrypter will burn dual layer discs. You'll need to rip in ISO mode first, then choose ISO write.

Second, we can't tell if it's the media you used without knowing what it was and what the manufacturer ID was on it.

Burning with Decrytper will also help verify/eliminate Nero as the culprit.

    Well,

I'm burning Verbatim Dual layer medias on a NEC 3520A burner.
I'll give DVD Decrypter a try to burn my next one.

    @oliver007,

I'm lost and confused trying to understand your question here. Please try to be more specific with more details i.e. when/where is the error encountered? What blank media you're using? What's the error and if you can, please post the error from either DVD Decrypter or Nero in here. So other experienced members can help you to solve better.

In addendum to your question, if you're going to use Nero to burn/back up the VIDEO_TS folder and files, then you need to rip the original movie with DVD Decrypter using MODE, FILE F, then DECRYPT. In prior to this, you need to create a folder aka "MYNEWBACKUP_MOVIE" on your C: drive or Hard Drive first, and inside "MYNEWBACKUP_MOVIE", create another folder called VIDEO_TS <--- yes... exactly like this. With that being said, if you use DVD Decrypter to MODE, ISO, READ and use Nero to burn the VIDEO_TS, then it is obviously that I'm lost.

In addition, if you just want to do a DL back up, then all you need is DVD Decrypter alone. Simply do MODE, ISO, READ to your Hard Drive, wait until it's completed. Then do MODE, ISO, WRITE to back up the movie onto a DVD+R DL blank media that's all.

Use Decrypter in iso read and the write mode. Decrypter handles the layer break much better than Nero does. I have tried several programs and Decrypter burns dual layers the best. Just my opinion :)

    Well,

I'll try to give more details.

    1. I tried to use DVD Decrypter to rip a few movies to my HD (each in VIDEO_TS folders). I then burned the VIDEO_TS folders using Nero on Verbatim DL disks. No error encounter during rip or burn. When trying to watch the DVDs on a SONY home DVD, the DVD just won't start, no menu, then an error code on the DVD screen (C13.00). On some disks, menu starts and hangs when trying to go to main movie.

    2. Following an advise caught here, I ripped another movie using DVD Decrypter while anyDVD was running. I then created an iso image using folder2iso. I then burned the iso image using DVD Decrypter (ISO WRITE MODE). Same story, no menu. That second disk runs ok on my laptop and xoom DVD player.

I guess I'll try to read ISO and write iso as suggested.

    Hey guys

Did the ISO read-write method work for you, Oliver?

Well, I also tried burning a verbatim dvd+r dl using the latest nero version on a sony dru 700a. It was a video_ts folder of around 7.5 gb. The burn went fine and nero displayed stuff like its burning layer 1 now and then its burning layer 2 during the burn. The disc plays fine on the sony dru 700a and an old sammsung dvd/cd-rw combo drive. But while trying to play it on my standalone sony dvdp ns305 player, it plays up the first screen of the dvd where I am supposed to choose the country flag of my choice for the languages, etc, but after that, as soon as I click on any flag, the player screams out that the disc is dirty and shows the error code 13 as well, which is the code for a dirty disc in the player. I have the latest firmware, VY08, for the sony burner, and I know that dvd+r dl discs compatibility is not the greatest, but what's driving me nuts is the fact my 5-year old samsung combo drive played it perfectly whereas the much newer sony dvdp ns305 could not.

So, is there a possibility that the ISO read and write mode of DVD Decrypter is more reliable than nero's burning engine when it comes to dvd+r dl? Is there any other method or solution for this problem? I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out! I have one spare dvd+r dl remaining and I have already fried one, so I have one last shot at this... please help!

    hi

i think the dvd player doesnt like the disc type use maybe?

also stay away from FolderToIso! it does not make a valid dvd structure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go like you said iso read then iso write! if it still wont run then could be doesnt like media used try a dvd-r and play on player!
