My dvddecrypter will sometimes rip movies with the .iso and .mds extention, yet sometimes it rips it as an .ill, .ioo, and some other extention that's like 5 kb. Why is this? I I were to use dvddecrypter to burn the disk, which one of the three would I use? What is the explanation for this anyhow?
Another question is that sometimes (again, on movies 4.36 or smaller) I am able to drag it over as a video_ts file and rip it from nero with no problem, and sometimes not. When I'm about to write, a "DVD reallocation error" has occurred. I'm doing the EXACT same thing...dragging the video_ts folder, and it doesn't work. How strange is it that I have more problems burning dvd5 disks than I do burning dvd9 disks!
    thanks

I've never tried SmartRipper because I have never had a problem with DVDDecrypter. Head over to http://www.dvddecrypter.com for full guides on how to use the various options provided.

lol - only rip in ISO if you want to burn an image. Use IFO file mode for getting the correct VOB's, IFO's, BUP's etc...

I used to use Smart ripper to get dvds on my computer long before I had a burner. Worked fine.

Then I tried using it to rip a dvd when I got a burner so that I could burn a dvd. Nero had a prob with the files smart ripper ripped. I forget the error. Something about file allocation. Never used smart ripper again.

Better than dvddecrypter? I dunno 'bout that. Never had a prob with dvddecrypter.

    Tosca!
what the others aren't getting is that is exactly the problem I've been getting...only on certain disks. I drag the video ts folder ripped by both smartripper and dvddecrypter, and it'll say 'video allocation error'. It didn't matter if it was by smartripper or dvddecrypter - they both had the same results. But what I noticed is that the ones that won't let me burn it merely by dragging the video_ts file, I CAN burn it in ISO mode. It's just unfortunate that I have to rip it in both FILE and ISO mode to find out which it will work in.

If you guys are skeptical, try dvddecrypting/smartipping THE UMBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG. You'll get the same problem.
