    Good evening,

this is my first post so apologies if it sounds a bit basic but here goes.

I'm using the newest version of DVD Decrypter and keep on getting read errors that stop the decryption i.e one DVD will stop at 13% another at 9% and one DVD even got read errors after only 1%. What maked it more bizarre is that when I take them out and start the process again, they get read errors at exactly the same place!!

To add insult to injury, on occasions on other DVD's it has actually worked and I've successfully gone on to burn the discs.

Why will some DVD's decrypt and not others?

    I'd really appreciate some advice

    thanks

    Justin

Are the discs dirty or scratched? That is usually the cause for read errors most of the time.

    Thanks for that...simple and effective.

I've just cleaned two discs. The first one is now decrypting at the moment which is great. The second one I'm going to try has several scratches on it and fails at 15% the read rate is normally 2.4% on average on then gradually decreases to 0.0% and then the read errors occur..I@ll keep you posted.

Is there a DVD disc cleaner that you can recommend for the future?

    thanks again

    Justin

spit and elbow grease, not literally!
Use a lint free soft cloth and clean from the centre outwards. But I'm sure you already know that :)
All those commercial expensive thingys don't work, they are just money spinners.

From what i heard dvd fab decryptor works well, even better on dodgy disks than the DVD decryptor. Give that a shot

Thanks for the tip. I've just found this forum yesterday and it' s fantastic. I'll try DVDFab Encrypter if the polishing tip doesn't work!

    cheers
