I have only ripped a few DVDs with DVDD but the last two that I ripped to my hard drive have no VIDEO_TS.IFO but they seemed to have completed successfully. I looked at them compared to other movies that I done before. These two have these files that are not in the other movies that worked with DVD shrink. They have the following names; Default.PLS, VTS_01 - Stream Information.txt. I don't know if it is a setting I changed in DVDD? OR is it a different format DVD? I can play the actual video on my Roxio DVDMAX Player. I guess I just need to know how or what program I need to burn them to a DVD that I can play on a regular DVD player?

first of all your post is realy f*cked up and unclear, a lot of people would not understand what you are saying.
softs you may want to use are nero and DVD Shrink. DVD Decrypter is good for 1:1 copies and ripping to the HDD for other programs to compress. I use DVD Shrink, this will rip the DVD (even if copy protected approx. 95% chance of working) i have only ever come across 1 dvd that did not work with Shrink which was the Forgotten. the bonus is that DVD Shrink also compresses the DVD so that it will fit on a DVD5, or it can remain uncompressed so that it can be burnt to a DVD9.
Nero is good if you only rip the VOB's. Just create a new dvd with Nero Vision and it will alow you to import them and finaly burn...
you are complaining of a missin VIDED_TS.IFO this is where programs like DVDFab come in. DVDFab i do not know whether can be used as stand alone (able to rip copy protected) because i use AnyDVD also, so i'm happy. If you don't want to pay money for AnyDVD get something like DVD43, this also performs the same tasks... well anyway (a bit off topic) DVDFab has an option allowing you to re-create the VIDEO_TS.IFO. also it has options to compress dvd's and make 1:1 copies.
    hope this helps...
    post your results...

    hi

you may of changed your settings in dvd decrypter, as i suspect they are not default anymore, the Default.PLS is what powerDVD places in there after you played a vob ile with it! get rid of it...

if like mentioned you load to shrink you can use dvd decrypter to burn aswell but it must be set in dvd shrink after you hit backup button!

also you may have to go into settings and disable nero burn as it will use that to (your chioce really nero burn engine or DVDD)

I have ripped a few movies to my hard drive using DVDD and then used DVD shrink to create a ISO image that would fit on a single layer DVD disc.
My problem is with the last two DVDs, there is no VIDEO_TS.IFO so when I try to "Open files" in DVD shrink and browse to where I ripped the disc to, I get a DVD shrink error saying it cannot locate the VIDEO_TS.IFO file.
I guess I can set DVDD back to defualts although I don't think I changed anything? I might just try to re-rip the discs, I just thought there might be a faster solution to it all.

It sounds to me like your ripping with decrypter in the iso mode.
If that is the case, then you can open that iso in dvd shrink, using the file(not open files)open disc image.

No, definitely not using ISO. What I have learned is that a have a VTS_01 - Stream Information.txt instead of a VIDEO_TS.IFO when I ripped the DVD using DVDD? The other file that I was referring to was created by my DVD player when I was viewing the ripped files and not related to the ripping of the DVD.
All other files from the rip are identical names to previously ripped DVDs using DVDD. Sounds like I have come across something strange that not a lot of people have had happen to them.

    hi

uninstall dvd dercrypter and install it again!

    but personally i think this:

are you ripping in IFO mode? if so dont, use FILE or ISO, infact use iso to load to dvd shrink...

Thanks to everyone for their responses and help for it has helped me learn alot. While I just could have re-ripped the DVDs without trying to figure out what happened, I would have not learned anything from it.
    Thanks again!
