DVD Decrypter

I have the latest verion of this software. I used DVDShrink to store a DVD movie in my hard drive. When I went to record/write it to a DVD-R or +R it does the 100% writing then says "synchorising Cache" for hours. I have to shutdown my computer in order to get this action stop. The recorded DVD has something written on it but I cannot play the movie. Any suggestions?

When you saved the file from DVD Shrink was it one ISO file? You are trying to burn with DVDDecriptor? Do you have any other burning programs that you can use--ie.Nero?

Yes it was stored in ISO format. Would you know why it will say synchonising cache for a long period of time? Never the less, I cannot play back the stuff got written on the media.

Download the freeware app Daemon. It is a drive simulator app for loading and playing ISO files. You can download a copy from AD. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/daemon_tools.cfm Load the ISO and you can play it the same as you would a DVD in your DVD ROM drive. That way you can see if the ISO you recorded is playable. Here at AD, at Doom9, MrBass, and Shrink.info you can find guides to review how you used Shrink to see if you made any errors. Normally is doesn't matter with Shrink whether you use the File mode or the ISO mode. However, you have to have an ISO if you're going to burn with DVD Decrypter. Also, most viewer apps will work with files on the HDD, but ISOs have to be mounted in a simulated drive.

You could always rip the movie with Dvd Decrypter first and then run it through DVD Shrink so that it fits on a DVD-5 disk--the first link in my sig has an easy to follow guide--then, If you want to watch an ISO movie on your computer, you can use the Daemon tools app that brobear suggests--let us know how you make out

@frahman hi iv'e had this happen 3 x to date. sometimes your lucky and the disc will still play, some times not.
after decrypter has finished the burn, down in the bottom left hand corner a message pops up (normally for a very short time)
"synchronizing cache". when it does this the disc is already finished.
synchronizing cache is for the computers requirements.
if it carries on with this message longer than a minute or so shut down decryter by clicking the little cross as per normal, and with a little luck you will still have a playable dvd.

 

I was talking about an ISO stored on the HD in case that option was chosen while burning with Shrink. It's a good choice if one runs into trouble. If the software finds the disk unreadable that was burned, the likelihood is that it wasn't finalized due to the Shrink warning. Nothing will open the disk to be read in that case. Trash the DVD and start over. Use an RW until you get the problem solved.
