dvd disc failure

    My ILO DVD PLAYER RECORDER DVDR04 won't read some writables or dvds even if the lense has been clened with a CD/DVD CLEANER.
    How can I get it to read?
    Or HOW CAN SOME EVIL PERSON GET MY DISCS TO FAIL AND MY READER TO FAIL?

    If the DVDs are commercially mastered DVDs, something is likely wrong with the unit. If the DVDs are those burned by PC DVD burners, the problem may be with the quality of the burn achieved. The quality of the media used, the burn speed, and other factors like booktyping can affect whether the disk is readable by your recorder. Can the recorder read the disks it records?
