    Hi,
Yes i know this may sound a silly question, but does one have to FORMAT all new DVD Discs(Such as DVD-R,DVD+R DVD+RW ETC) before use,and if so what program do you use.
    Thanks

No we dont have to format the disc if they are not re-writable and even when they are on first use u do not have to firmat the disc.

Any program will work with the discs. But make sure the disc is from a good manifacturer.

Use DVD Identifier to actually identify the real manifacturer of the disc.

I hope that helps you out.

good advise..... here is a media guide for you:
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

just keep in mind the better media is [bold]Made-In-Japan[/bold] with the one exception: Verbatim (made in Taiwan/Singapore). Read lable and buy the ones MIJ (Taiyo Yuden, Maxell, Sony).

    Hi borhan 9
Thanks for the reply,i just then cant understand why such things as INCD are there,as they ask to format Discs all the time when using a new Disc??
Anyway i will try and use Unformatted Disc to see what happens.
Also that site you gave me for DVD Identifier, well i downloaded it but it says that its corrupt. Have tried twice now and still get same thing,so i have deleted it.????????????
Thanks anyway i will look at something else.
    Tony

Ok thats your problem remoce InCD it conflicts with other DVD programs. All that does is format re-writable DVD's thats all. I personally got rid of it first thing and only left AnyDVD there.

If DVD Identifier says the disc is curropted there is something majorly wrong with the media then.
