Try AoA DVD Ripper. When loading DVD, click on "Import from dvd disk" and then select the ripped dvd movies on your hard drive.

If your Windows Media Player is not 9 or above, you need to install Windows Media Runtime to convert dvds to wmv.

Windows Media Encoder or any other encoder. Doesn't really matter since they would all be using Microsoft's encoder. WMV9 Screen I believe offers a lossless mode. That is the only way to do it without quality loss. Expect the filesize to increase a lot though.

OK, I get it. I thought the ripped dvd movie is still in dvd structure.

There is a lot of video converter software. Try Advanced X Video Converter or Power Video Converter.

So will the convertion affect on video's quality? I need very good video quality. I preffer WMV format, min video bitrate from 1024 kbps, minimal resolution from 640 x 480 and higher..

In Advanced X Video Converter, for instance, select "Windows Media Video 640x480 WMV Profile" from the drop-down list of Windows Media Profile.

    Hi

When converting wmv to avi or avi to wmv the picture quality stays the same...Over all I give the Ultra Video Converter five stars... :O)

The quality is never the same unless you use a lossless codec and then the filesize goes way up. Whenever you re-encode with a lossy codec, you lose quality.
