OK FIrst DVD Burner I bought was a BTC 1004 started making coasters with that switched to Verbatim and had no problems. Technology has moved on since the now I have just bought an LG GSA-4167B and hey presto now I burning DL Coasters, at an even greater cost. My copy of Nero doesn't work, says that it will only work with the drive it was supplied with. So I tried to make a backup using DVD Decrypter Version 3.1.7.0 burnt the image successfully but the tried to burn it to a Verbatim DL DVD+R, it finished OK but when I tried to play the DVD it is not recognised. Put it back in DVD Decrypter and got a message Invalid Field In CDB & Disc Authentication Failed Failed to get disc key Any help would be great, fed up with coasters. Another question, may be related how do I set / change the Region Settings for my DVD Burner? and or DVD Decrypter how would this affect the copy and burn.
For one thing your DVD Decrypter is out of date, the latest is 3.5.4.0, so that could be your main problem. Even with the latest version it still might not work depending on the type of encryption is on the disc, Decrypter may not be able to handle it. Best thing to do is get ANYDVD (21 day free trial), and this will definitely handle all encryptions, and also set it to region free. Also, Imgburn I hear handles DL discs better than Decrypter.
