    Hi Nyyankee
    Welcome to aD
Need just a bit more info here.
What are you burning to the dvd? A video_ts folder, an avi file etc.
What app in Nero are youy using - Express, Recode, Vision etc?

Best best post this last log from Nero - will give us the rest of the info to try and sort this out.
Just be sure to edit out your serial # - usually begins w/ 1A, 1C or 5C.
    You can find it here:
    program files>nero>nero 7>core>nerohistory.

The logs are usually separated by something like this:
    ====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======

Okay looks lik the burner is up to date on the firmware - GA04 is the last update for Gateway's.

Using great media MCC 03 - 16x speed. But that may be playing into the problem on the player - they can be picky so take the burn speed down to 4x and see if that helps.

You've got great memory but thru the logs anywhere from 71-80% is in use. So free some up - no multitasking and close any uneccessary programs.

The other disc (bootleg) is that the same Verb media and burn speed?

    the bootleg disk are differnt

i was already burning it at 8x

why would it work on the computer and not on the player?
and why would Windows Wizard open up and it stated that i need to add more files on the dvd after nero said everything was ok?

    thank you for your help

Players can be picky - some more than others on what media and burn speed they like. Take the burn speed down to 4x from 8x. See if that helps this player.
If you can try it in a friends player & see how it does.

For the windows message - not that sure on that one unless you're just getting the actions pop up when a disc is inserted.
From the log you settings in Nero are correct:
    Write : TRUE
    Finalize CD : TRUE
    Multisession : FALSE
    Burning mode : DAO

    And you're welcome :)

but the dvd works in the computer,

you think it is just because the dvd player i tried it in is cheap ,

Could be the player - try it on someone elses & see what happens when you can.

The windows message is throwing me.

If your game let's try another program and see how that goes. Good free burner - imgburn. You'll need to use the 'build mode' & add the video_ts folder and burn the DVD.
    Try either 4x or 8x.
If the same happens then def. pointing to the player.

Here's a guide too for build mode:

    @Nyyankee
Nope don't think you're doing anything wrong. Player sounds like the big culprit here.
Might not like the verb media.
    Try it in another player.
Another suggestion is pick up a dvd cleaner disc and run it thru the dvd player. Cleaning the lens may help.

    Keep us posted.

What format are the Verbs +, -?

Some dvd players dont play both formats, look at the manual from the dvd player and see if it plays DVD-+R formats. it would be under playback somwhere.

    Good point 300bowler!
Nyyankee is using -R media. So you can also check here and see if the cyberhome likes -R media - just need the model #:

thank you guys for your help, problem was solved

I figured it out by myself though I read this article http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd_standards.cfm

i was using dvd-r instead of dvd+r (my first dvd burn I did not know the diffrence, they should just have one format)

also I looked up what my dvd player plays

    Hi Nyyankee
Good to hear you figured it out.
-R has a higher compatilbity than +R w/ players. +R's can be booktyped to DVDRom to increase compatibility but your drive doesn't look like it supports this.
Sounds like you have one that doesn't like the -R's though.
Most newer players support both but then you have the oddballs :)
