I burned Shaun Of The Dead twice!!!! Everything works on the computer, but not on the DVD player. Okay, I used DVD Decrypter and CloneDVD2 the first time, then the second time I used DVD Decrypter and DVDShrink and used the same file to burn it. Should I just give up?

There are no problem with copying/burning this movie.

Problems could be due to poor quality media or incompatibity with your standalone.

What brand of media are you using? What is your burn speed? Are you using labels on your burnt DVD?

Try the DVD on some different standalones (e.g. friends etc.)

What brand name and model # is your burner?

    Which format are you using?

If your burner is capable of burning either format, try the opposite format-with a high quality media.

Is this the only backup that gives you stand alone playback problems,or is it all of them?

I burned Napoleon Dynamite and it worked, but that didn't need to be compressed. I have a rainbow storage burner (external drive) and am using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shink. I have regular DVD-R discs.

Well, what did you burn it with, DVD Decrypter or Nero? And did it work? And how did you "lose" the menus? All I can see is that you can take off the audio and all.

Also, I am copying it for a third time and not sure if it will work. I used shrink to compress it, took off the foreign languages, and made the file thingy. Then I went into DVD Decrypter and created an MDS. file for it and now it is burning. My LAST disk, need to buy re-writables. Where can I buy these disks for cheap?

To lose the menus, after you use dvd decrypter in file mode. Open up dvd shrink, click open files tab and locate that movie and open it. Click re-author tab, click and drag main movie from right side of screen to the left side of screen. Then click backup and burn with whatever you are set up with.

Some movies are causing playback issues from some of the beginning credits, like columbia pictures. On these newer columbia releases,I further edit out all the stuff just until that image of lady libery-This is where I start my backup.I do this on majority of all my movies. The grudge burned me on my first attempt, cutting out all that extra crap allowed for a near perfect backup. So I do this on everything.

Try ripping with dvd shrink,re-author,set start and stop frames, then backup and double check all those settings, and let it autoburn using dvd decrypter. It should work about the same. I used dvd shrink, and then let nero autoburn. Many members did have trouble with shawn of the dead a while back.

We still need to know the speed rate and brand name of those regular dvd-r's that you are using?

Where to buy rw's? If you have a local walgreens, they have 2 packs of tdk's on sale for $3.99 I believe. These are very good. Beware of memorex rw's,they have performed worse than my tdk's.I have lots of playback issues with them. Maxell/verbatim/fuji/and sony make some quality rw's. Also regular dvd-r media quality can vary between brand names. You can use these over and over again,so they pay for themselves after about 5 or so burns.

The DVD works, I did all the same stuff but made an MDS. file from the file that DVD shrink made then burned it. Works like a charm.
