I am running Windows XP. Today I used ImgBurn to copy a disc to my hard drive and it worked perfectly as usual. Then the CD drive froze up completely, no light, no nothing. I managed to extract the disc using the paper clip method but now it seems totally dead, will not go in or eject, the icon has disappeared from My Computer and the drive from Device Manager as well. Rebooting and a system restore achieved nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

I'm usually very fearful of taking the side off computer cases but merely reseating the cables did the trick! Thanks for your time.
