hi, for some reason i cant get my dvd rom drive to work in x64, it doesnt exist as far as My Computer is concerned it just stopped working, but if i go into device manager its there with an exlamation mark, in the genral propeties tab it says the following.

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

Now i cant reistall these obviously becasue the cd doesnt work, is there anyway of getting around this.

not sure if this helps but im running 2 operating systems, win xp pro sp2 and win x64 pro on seperate drives.

win xp pro sp2 works fine with dvd drive, just x64 bit version stopped working.
