Hi..I am n00b, so please forgive me for any mistakes I make...

Anyways...I wanted to start burning some game backups...But when I put the disc in my dvd drive..it doesnt even detect it...But any other burned discs (like movies) etc are detected..So Im a bit confused as to why its happening...As far as I know..my drive supports dual layer reading and burning...

Any help would be appreciated greatly..Thanks...

    Heres my DiscInfo listing..

P.S: I realised later that I should probably have posted this on the hardware forum...Sorry about that

Go back and read The DiscInfo that you posted. In the body it tells you which formats of CD and DVD that you can read and/or write.

It makes NO mention of any dual layer format. THEREFORE, you drive neither reads nor writes any dl disc.

You will need to install a dl capable drive!!

    OK.

The Nero Information Tool identifies your drive differently than DiscInfo. It appears that you should be able to read and write DL media (it was not that way on the first post).

Here are some things to check:

Look at your Device Manager to see if there are any yellow or red flags.
Check for latest firmware for your drive here: http://www.firmwarehq.com/
Try to see if your drive recognizes DL media after checking the above.

If not, try uninstalling the drivers for the disk drive under the Device Manager. Then reboot. This should allow the drivers to reinstall afresh. Try the blank media again.

Post an update, hopefully this will clear it up for you.
