I am tyring to store my music files on dvd's I know it can be done. So I copied all my music files to the dvd-rw drive but when I go to burn them on to a disc I put in a blank dvd, all of a sudden the PC now says it is a cd-rom drive. So I open up dvd decrypter so the pc recognizes it as a dvd drive again but when I try to use the writing wizard it says the disc is not a cd and cannot write it. I back up all my movies on this so it is a dvd- cd writer. But when I put in a blank DVD it does not recognize it as a dvd. Is there something I am missing here what is the trick to put music on a dvd? Thanks in advance. >>>---Zen--->
Confusing post. What do you mean when you say you copied your music files to a DV-RW drive? That means you burned them to a disc, so what's the problem? What program are you using? And if you mean that, after setting up the program for burning TO a DV-RW drive, THEN put in the media, why not put in the media before you even open the program and see if that works?
No I copied my music files to the dvd rw drive with no disc in. Then I was going to put a disc in and use the "writing wizard" that pops up to burn them to a blank dvd. When there is nothing in my dvd drive, it says "dvd-rw drive (D" The minute I put in a blank dvd it says "CD Drive (D" All this from "My Computer" which shows all my hardware. I am not using any type of program, I thought you could just burn items from your dvd drive to a disc. Is there something else I need to do? Hope that is more intelligleble. ( I Know that word isn't) Thanks.
