I have an Acer Aspire 1640 with dvd writer and driver as pioneer dvd-rw dvr-k16ra. it was working well till i installed the windows xp again after removing a virus from my laptop. now the problem is this that whenever i try to play any dvd movie it gives an error in windows media player like "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer." and in realone player as "you must have DVD softwaer installed on your computer to play DVDs. please ensure the DVD software that came with your computer or DVD drive is properly installed, before attempting to play your DVD.". i'm really worried because i didn't get any driver or software with this laptop and all of the things were alreay installed in it. i tried to find anysoftware from acer's site but nothing is given there related to dvd player. can anyone please help me that how to find the driver or how to catter this problem. thanks in advanec
Try using media player classic to play your DVDs with, it's free and you can get it here; http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_players/media_player_classic.cfm
