i have a pioneer A106 and a A109 (DL) also a external Imation DVDrw (DL). All three drives had been working well , but last cpl of weeks they are not reconising DVD R media,Windows sees them as blank CDs,0mb capacity,0mb available space, still burns CDRs, Have tried different media, Firmware updates, even bought new hard drive with fresh copy of windows XP, STILL the same. Any idea's will be greatly appreciated, THANK YOU....
Sounds like a firmware issue to me. What are the firmware versions that you have for each drive? We can double check. Can you post a log file of a failed burn?
Thank you for your reply, The firmwares are Pioneer DVR 106D - fw-1.08, Pioneer DVR 109 - fw- 1.57, and Imation(external drive, USB 2.0) IMWDVRW16DLE - fw- JSIA Why would all three drives go at once? I have installed new 200gb Hard drive, With a fresh copy of XP SP2, Could it be a motherboard problem? PC passes all diagnostic programs i can find!I tried new Cables!Tried just installing one single drive, i have unistalled drivers thru device manager and reinstalled, still Nothing!!!! Sorry cannot post error log as i cannot burn to DVDs anymore, Windows reconises disc media as CD, Drives still play pre recorded DVDs, When i click on properties of the drive while DVDR media inserted it says Type: CD drive File Sys RAW Used Space 0 bytes Free Space 0 bytes. Its the same on all three drives? If i try to record to the discs with DVDR, windows just says please insert blank media?!!All three drives burn successfully to CDRs , No problem!!! ))))))))) HELP ((((((((((
