dvd drives stopped working

    they both open and close fine but my comp has a yellow question mark over all the dvd drives. i was trying to uninstall nero 7 from my comp with nero tool cleaner and ever since then they have stopped working properly. any help will be appreciated, thanks

    You see this in the hardware device manager?
    Right click on the drive, uninstall and scan for hardware changes.

    If that doesn't work, scroll down to the IDE controller that the drives are connected to (probably the secondary) right click, uninstall and reboot.

    the drives dont show up on my computer. so i will try ur methd and see what happens.

    are you getting an error code 39 or something like that?

    i have same problem , but i get the error code 41 any help for me , thnx in advance ,,,,,john
