I have a DVD with 10 tv episodes and want to make each one episode into an AVI. I have ripped the DVD to the HD and been messing with AutoGK but so far am stumped as to how to split the episodes up from the IFO/VOB files.
These things are usually split by VOB ID. You can try VobEdit to split them by VobID and you will probably get each episode split. However, you can get Smartripper and rip the DVD folder from your HDD. You will want to go into Movie Mode. Then you choose each PGC separately and rip. This will rip only one PGC (episode) at a time. If you do not want to get Smartripper, you can use DVD Decrypter, but you will have to re-rip the DVD. Go into IFO Mode. DVD Decrypter will show you the episodes as PGCs. This will then allow you to rip one episode at a time. I am not familiar with the other tools people normally use for this sort of thing, so I cannot help you on those tools.
I managed to do it using DVD Shrink and the re-author option then set start frames / set end frames then I converted it to AVI with AutoGK. Most likely not the best way to do it but it works.
