I have a bunch of backups of DVD-5 movies. I want to make duplicates. I just want some recommendations of software that will do this quickly (preferably freeware)and reliably. No need to encode or edit. I just want to make fast backups for some of these older DVD's
    Thanks!

Don't know about fast but you can look over ths guide. Kind of old, DVDFabHDDecrypter is the updated version. You can skip the FixVTS and/or VobBlanker step if you like. I'd use DVD Shrink to backup just the movie to a regular DVD (DVD 5) if you want any kind of quality or a DL DVD (DVD 9) for Full backup's if your burner and player support them and then don't need DVD Shrink either. Down to about 75% in DVD Shrink should be fine. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154 AnyDVD and ConeDVD2 would be excellent payware.

Thanks but thats the thing. I'm just trying to do a straight copy from movie dvd to blank DVD with no conversions. Something that will skip the steps where it stores an iso or dvd folders and it just copies. So I was wondering if there was a simple program or one of the mentioned programs that may be better at copying than something else.

Don't know but maybe DVD Decrypter if it's able to break the encryption. No free method's I know off the top of my head. AnyDVD just for the encryption and CloneDVD2 will as well other pay program's, use them constantly istead of DVDFab, Shrink and ImgBurn, not sure if FixVTS isn't incorporated too. Even Nero will if the encryption can be gotten around.

Forgive me for not being clear.
The DVD's I am copying are already compressed / decrypted. I just want to copy them from DVD Drive D to DVD Drive E quickly

    Thanks

Just ImgBurn then but unless burning to a DVD 9, I'd run them through DVD Shrink first and burn the main movie to a DVD 5 or is that what you mean by compressed? CloneDVD2 will also burn to either in 1 step but isn't free. DVDFabHDDecrypter will also create an iso or VIDEO_TS folder of the main movie for future use that will only need burning.

I'm a bit confused, are you trying to move the file's from one HDD to another HDD or from one HDD to a blank DVD in a DVD writer that you can play on a set top?

Sorry I mis-spoke. You will need an app that can 'copy disc' on-the-fly. Nero can do this if you have it.
