I’ve been using DVD Fab Gold with no problems until just recently. I tried backing up a disc and got a bunch of errors. I came to find out that my Primary IDE Channel was switched the current transfer mode to PIO Mode. I have read that if you get more than 6 errors this will happen. I did some research and found that if I uninstall the Primary IDE Channel, set it to DMA if available, restart the computer it will work perfectly fine. Now the problem I am having is mid way through backing something up it’ll will automatically switch to PIO Mode. Can someone please help me??? I have no idea what is causing this or how to fix it.
You could try ripping an unprotected DVD or a known good, previously ripped, DVD to see if it does it. If it still does it, could be either the software or the drive. Try DVD Decrypter on an unprotected DVD and if it has problems, then it's probably not the software, but the drive.
I'm trying to split a DVD. I've done this serveral time before with no problem. No it works fine until it gets to 50% completion. From there is slows down to a crawl and when I check my Primary IDE Channel it's switched to transfer mode of PIO Only. I don't get it.
do you have the drive set as a master or a slave? try uninstall everything the drive and the IDE Channel, then reboot and let windows reinstall. plus uninstall and do a clean reinstall of the software your using maybe this will help read this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038
