hello, i use dvdfab to burn my vob files. After im done almost always nero show time displays this"Current region not selected, region setting counter 5 times remaining, you need administrative rights to change the region." Now these are both new installs as my last computer died. I used these to programs before and never saw this message. I dont know if this is dvdfabs burning problem or nero not wanting to play it problem. Where do i change the region setting in nero, it never lets me do anything on that screen when it pops up? I am logged on to the computer as administrator. Can i bypass dvdfab and just use nero for vob files? I know it will burn them but i can never get nero to make it an interactive dvd, with working menues and such. Where dvdfab always makes it like that. Thanks for your help.

    I believe that your new drive’s DVD region is not set yet. (I believe usually it is set to the default(1) in US. So It is little weird to me. Though I assume that it was not set just because where you reside or where you obtained the drive from.) It is nothing to do with any application. That info is stored in the drive. You can set it by (Vista);
    Open drives property window,
    Click Hardware Tab,
    Select your DVD burner,
Then click properties button. The device properties window will open.
Click DVD region tab and select the country, the click ok.

    I hope this helps.

Sorry to be dense but there is no region tab on any of the drives after i hit the properties tab. I'm either barking up the wrong tree or mabey its already set. For now i'm just going to have to leave vob files be. Thanks .

    Just one more try…

(Make sure that you log in as Administrator.)

In Windows Explorer right click ANY drives (HD or ODD),
Then select “Properties”, “Disk/Drive (Drive letter:), Properties” window opens.
There should be “General”, “Tools”or”AutoPlay”, “Hardware”, “Sharing” and “Quota”or”Recording” tab in the window.
    Then click “Hardware” tab,
You will see the list of all disk drives.
Select your DVD-ROM or RAM that you want to set the region,
Then click “properties” button under the list,
New "(Drive name) Properties" window opens.
In that window , there should be “General”, “Properties”, “DVD Region” , “Volumes” and “Driver”.
    Select "DVD Region" tab.

Yes all those are there except for the dvd region tab. Does that mean it is set allready? It says it is working, in the box below. I am logged in as adm. Thanks for your time!

You must be looking at wrong (first) window…
Regardless of the region setting (set or not), you should see the “DVD Region” tab for changing it.

Another way to check is to run Nero Info Tool. After apps checking your system, click the “Drive” tab. At very bottom, there should be “Region Code” info. If region is not set yet, you’ll see it “None”, if it is set you’ll see the number.

Your drive's region is set to "1". (Make sure all drives if you have more than one.)
Do you still get message which is in your original post, when you put Region coded DVD in that drive?
