I started the project with DVD Flick last night and expected to wake up to a newly burned DVD. Instead I woke up to ImgBurn on the screen and nothing appeared to be happening. On my DVD Flick encoding window, it read "Finalizing...Burning to disc...". Time was continuing to elapse but but nothing was actually happening as far as I could tell. And in the bottom left hand corner of the ImgBurn screen I finally noticed the message "Device Not Ready(Medium Not Present)".
As anyone can tell, I have no idea what Im doing. This is my first time ever burning a dvd or using DVD Flick. Please help...Thanks =).

EDIT: Ive noticed that other people have had the same problem. Sorry for posting before finding these older topics...Im new...blah. So anyways, I checked the capabilities of my drive and discovered that DVD+R(which is what Im using) is not checked. In fact, I only see that CD-R and CD-RW are checked. My drive is a Samsung Cd-R/RW. I also have a drive that says DVD Rom on it. What does that do? Can I burn DVD's on that? Thanks.

Unless your dvd rom states on it R or RW it can only read.

And a cd-rom will NOT burn dvds no matter how many times you try. sorry.

The "Medium Not Present" message told me all I needed to hear......

Not knowing the capabilities of his drive told me more.....

Dvd drives are now fairly inexpensive to buy......and very easy to install.
