Can someone shed some light on this problem:

DVD HP 300i, using TDK DVD RW media.

I can back up a movie fine with DVD Xpress, however I have to coax it to play in my DVD stand alone player. (turn off the player and back on, sometimes have to hit the play button a couple more times, then turn back off and on again.) Eventually it WILL play.
However, the functions on the remote work, but really hang the movie up when I try to fast forward etc.

    Is it the burner?
    Is it the media?
    Is it the software?

I've also tried using Dvd Decrypter and then burning with RecordNOw and it won't play at ALL in my standalone and will only play segments of the movie if I click on the VOB file.

    THank you

1st thing to check is the specs on you dvd player. Make sure it will play the type media you are using. Some say they play RW media but do have a problem reading it. 2nd what movie are you backing up and what version of express are you using. Seems to be problems with ver 3.0 I use ver 3.2.1
after problems with 3.0. Also I don't know what write speed the 300i is capable of. If its writing at 4x change it to 2x and see if that helps. Jerry
