    Hi,

I am new to this forum - so Hey all initially - Now down to business. I have 13 episodes of Prison Break that I wish to put onto 1 - 2 DVD's. With a Main Menu in which you can select to watch the whole episode, and then sub-menus that allow scene selection for each episode. How do I do this? Can anybody give me a quick how to guide?

I have converted the .avi files too .vob files using WinAvi 7.1 - Was this the right thing to do? Have I lost quality?

    Cheers,

thats a tall order for whole guide ...but dvd lab isnt that hard to use here is a little one pager on making a menu and connecting it in dvd lab:
    http://www.ez-tutorials.com/EZtuts/.../How-To-Create-Your-Own-Anime-DVD/page-07.php

but it doesnt discuss sub-menus, but after using this guide once i was able to make pretty good menus and a little more googling i found out how to change sutitle and audio settings though i dont have those bookmarks

i think after you follow this guide youll see how easy this program is to use and making sub menus is as ez as adding another menu and linking it the same way you would an episode

yup they made it easy as pie too
while in the connections screen youll see a line of butons (right below the part with all the menus and movies) one has 'ALL' written on it when you click it itll add a playlist that plays all the movies one after the other ...to have it return to the menu after everything is played click the '+' button (on the vertical menu to the left) and click and drag from the play all playlist to the menu

...check out the guy on how to easily link everything ...its just making the buttons then dragging the movies/menus from the project veiw (all the way to the left of the screen) to the button you wanna link it too

Can you create your own slide show menus? Like with a blank background etc? If so how?

you got me on that one ive only used still pictures and theme songs up till now ...ive only used it for 2 days now

but i do know that theres a menu (at the top of the screen) for slide shows and there a slot at the bottom of the (menu editing section) for 'motion' along with the audio so i imagine those two could go together

so try makin a slide show and drag it to the motion bar ...if it works lemme know i might make more interesting menus in the fure

and just to let u know those dotted lines in the menu editing screen actually mean something ...i dont know which one (inner or outter) is the area youll see on the tv ...i didnt know that and ive made like 6 dvds wit crap menus cause some of the titles run off the screen

ahh well you live n you learn ...wit all the warnings this thing gives you youd think theyd warn you about that little detail ...cause like i said its only on a tv the comp show it just fine
