DVD lenght confussion!

    Ok, so 120 minute dvd+r is for a 120 min movie......but I tested it out with Pulp Fiction which is like 158mins. I don't understand how it still burnt!

    Those discs also hold 4.38 gig in data so depending on the size of the movie they will fit too. More than likely you used something like Shrink/Recode to compress it to fit on the DVD-5.

    Think of the time thing as when you record from the TV -only 2 hours will fit. Original DVD's go by file size too (the longer the movie the bigger the file size can be) so if it's too big to fit on a DVD-5 (most newer ones are) you use a program to compress it to fit.
