Hi everyone, I have always had purple backed dvd+R's since the beginning of time. But the problem thats always been consistent is that if there is smallest little scratch on one of my games, it becomes unusable, I either get the RSOD or it takes 3hours to load. So I'm forced to reburn. I can only use DVD+R's and I had Imation purple backed at first, now I have some Verbatim ones. Is this because of my media, or is it that my burner is the problem. Thanks

Imation discs are crap, but your verbatim should be good. Have you tried cleaning your ps2 laser?

Well, its not the laser thats scratching it, its just small things...like.....er...moving air..or friction or any sort whatsoever. I'm pretty sure its not the laser since the ps2 is pretty new, I just wonder if a burner could make it so weak.

I know the laser isn't scratching the discs, but the laser should be able to read past small scratches (mine can read past most big, deep scratches). Thats why i was wondering if you ever cleaned your laser.

I can try it, although I would need a guide. But usually they arne't really small scratches(I guess I worded it badly) Its basically extremely prone to scratches, so just about anything like it spinning it its case gives it huge scratches
