Does anyone know a good program that I can obtain where I can make my own DVD menu. I remember having a decent one a long time ago but I forgot the name of it . Thanxx in advance
I currently use Mediachance DVDlab Pro and I love it. It allows you to create menus and customize the whole DVD file structure.
Well, I beg to differ with you..I find it very user friendly compared to Encore, Scenarist. It's about as "user friendly" as you can get and still have a "semi" to Professional Menu with maximum menu authoring "creative Latitude" There are dozens of "pre-packaged" "templete" driven Authoring Tools out there...but you're limited in what you can Do with them...some of these are: Nero Vision 4 TMPGEnc DVD Author Easy Media Sony Vegas Pinnacle WinDVD Movie Factory ShowBiz
@Headborg & Nick600 I'd like to know, can you actually use DVDLab Pro 1.5 to remove all extra from a non-encrypted DVD and manipulate the DVD menu to your liking i.e. just a chapter reference menu or special features if you wish to keep them. At the same time you have the options to remove not re-route trailers warnings and advertisements. If so is this a fairly easy process?
I don't thank So...you have too many things you want to simply change there instead of "create". Sounds like you want to "rebuild" or reconstruct a DVD as opposed to simply Authoring a DVD...to start with I'd used DVD REBUILDER to remove "all Extra" but then you want to.. do re-linking and modding the Nav structure of an existing Video_TS you could probably do this with Scenarist but it's not what DVD_Lab pro is set up to do...unless you're willing to simply import the motion menus & other menus as "background" video/ still and create your own Button Overlays and then link these to the different "components" you want.
@Headborg, what I'm requesting is considered authoring, I would just like to make less of what's on the original disc or file if possible. In other words being able to keep the same basic DVD structure using or removing uneeded buttons i.e. "Main Movie Only" but with the option to view individual chapters or a chapter menu only. Looking at a few illustrations of this software it looks like it's very possible. Can I ask, how are you using the software? The program appears user friendly it's just using video verbiage or jargon that needs a little defining for the beginner.
DNAS...what you want to do requires differnt functions, and likely different programs. A very good program for editing VOB files is DVD Remake and Remake Pro http://www.dimadsoft.com/products.php . It gives you a visual of the entire DVD's file structure, and you can remove whatever you want simply by deleting it, or a portion of it. You can then preview the results. Once the files are the way you want them, you can then use a menu program. I would also say that the most of what Remake does is very easy to do, and it is very user friendly. You just import the files, and the complete movie is shown. Most of the editing is point and click where a mouse click displays menus with all the options. The author has chosen not to include other functions...like menus...because there is already a lot of overlap out there. I personally believe this is the best program of its kind, and a very good value.
Well, I start with video/movies made with an Editing program, or TV shows/ movies downloaded from the Net that are missing such things as Menues, Subtitles, Special Features, Mult-Audio options, multi view options(wide-screen or full-screen, "Splash" screens( Like the 20th Century Fox Searchlights, etc) or the THX audio splash..a lot of stuff downloaded from the net is missing these "goodies" I then encode these to MPEG, then "author" custom Menus, VMG menu (if needed) and Author the DVD, usually I have to "compile" or "render" the Files to HD, then use Rebuilder to "shrink" the Video_TS down to fit a DVD-5( but I suspect this is because I haven't explored all the options of the Program YET. That program that DOC409 sounds like just the thing you would be interested in! I'll check it out too...DVDRemake and Remake Pro...I might need something like that..at some point..sounds a little more powerful than Rebuilder. @N2DVD i did some checking on your behalf..and found two programs that seem to do what you want (1)MenuEdit << to remove the "offending" button in the Menu (2) PGCEdit << to re-route a/the button link in a menu( looks like a script editor) My Eyes start to roll/ and get a far off haze whenever I start to think about script editing. Good Luck!
Headborg...I just finished with a Remake project. The editing was so fast that it took longer to import and export the files than to make the changes. Where Remake has its strength is that you work within the VOB file structure without having to convert to mpeg. Then you can send it through Rebuilder if a reduction is needed. Remake is a great timesaver. You will still need a good menu app like DVD Lab, however, with custom DVDs. I highly recommend the Pro version for someone that wants to do more than just remove trailers and splash screens on commercial DVD's. If you record TV shows that have advertisements, I would suggest converting directly to VOB for editing. Remake Pro is very fast, and the most accurate cutting program I have ever found. Compared to DVD-RB...RB is more all or none with commercial DVD's, where Remake gives tremendous flexibility with any DVD.
Thanks Headborg, for your feedback. I checked out the dimasoft products and I believe I will try out DVD Remake & Menu Maker. Not to say what you have suggested is not for me, But reading the software specs for dimasoft products, I'm impressed with the simplicity of authoring a disc with their products.
N2DVD...Remake is a great product. If your budget allows, I would suggest the Pro version. The extra $25 will go a long way in a lot of ways that will soon become obvious. If you have any startup probs with Remake, make a quick post here and I will get you started.
