anyone have anysuggestions on how to copy a movie from a dvd-5 to a dvd+ I have tried all the tools and it will not copy. I am using the dvddecrypter and nero 7 premium. I only can get decrypter to read 6% and stops. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Download dvd Fab Decrypeter from www.DVDIdle.com or buy AnyDVD and use it with DVD Decrypter. Rip the disc to your Hard Drive and burn with Nero or your program of choice.

PS Are you sure it is a DVD-5?

-R or +R shouldn't be an issue if your burner isn't old. Nowadays almost any burner will burn everything you put in, exception being DVD RAM. If you are able to rip it to the hard drive but are unable to burn to DVD+R, either your drive is kinda old and doesn't burn +R or maybe you need to update your firmware to make it work with the specific media you want to use.

There is a third option. If I'm not mistaken, the -R format can hold a few more Kilobytes than the +R format, but that is seldom a problem. You've gotta have a rotten luck for that to be the case. LOL

Whether the disk is + or - is not the problem.

The problem is the disk you are trying to copy from has errors in it. If DVDD is only getting to 6% and stopping. You can either try ripping from another drive, which may get by the bad sector or dl DVDFab Decrypter sometimes that does better with scratched disks. Check if for fingerprints and smudges and give it a clean, or get another original and back it up again. .

Somehow I missed that one. I got so focused on technical possibilities that I overlooked the simple ones...
