Is it possible to put a DVD file on a CD-R using a CD burner? I know how to do it using a piggy back disc on PS2 but I'd like to make movies on CD-R that will play directly in my DVD player.

you might be able to only if you have a cd buirner with a dvd player combo.

The DVD player must be able to vew DivX movies. If so, you can create a 700 MB AVI movie (which you'll put on a 80' CD-R) with the combo VirtualDub+AVISinth+DivX, which allows VirtualDub to load a D2V file (a sort of index file which is created on a VOB set) and compress it via DivX. Then it's just of question of VirtualDub's Video__Compression settings. Also, read the proper guide in http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/.

But this seems more a problem to be discussed in http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/41 , not here...
