Exactly what brand DVD-R would those be?

Why would I want to know? Well I'll use memorex as an example. They use several manufacturers to put the memorex name on a disc and not all are high quality suppliers. So you may get lucky and get a good batch of discs and then one day you go buy another batch but you run into problems with them not playing. You're thinking to yourself...But I'm using the same brand I always use.....what could the problem be......

    DVD-R 4.7GB 8X Silver Shiny Top Bulk by 124 (prodvdr8x/b)
    Ive purchased them from shop4tech.com
Its weird because for instance I burned 2 discs of same movie l;egend one was us thatrical release the other was directors cut/(it was double disc special) only the us theatrical works on other players but not the directors cut.the dc only works in burner. it was the same with my 2 different movies some work fine others do not.

Seems like crap media to me. Perhaps, try some top quality media like "Fuji, Maxell, Verbatim, TY, TDK, and Sony." Whatever you decided to get, please avoid Memorex.

I've even tried backing up the same movie 3 times (using 3 discs unfortunatly) and got the same results each time. Thought maybe it was the disc and eventually I'd find a good one but no luck.

I have to agree with zippyd and alkohol. The first thing I would try is useing some good, quality, proven media. Cheap no name media is known to be very inconsistant even from the same package, CMC Mag is known for this too. Try one of the choices given by alkohol and I repeat "stay away from memorex". You might even want to go with some rw's untill you get things ironed out.

    Hi there,

You mentioned you are using 1Click.

All those nice 1click dvd copier, mostly burn at MAX speed.
They do not let you choose the burning speed.

I think you might be burning too fast, specialy if you use cheaper media.

I have stopped using all those 1 click software just because of that.

I use DVDShrink and burn with Nero and I'm quite happy about the quality. I burn everything at 2x, I'm patient and want all my burns to be 99.99% if not 100%.

    Good point cougar,

I don't know which 1 click proggy you have but if it will let you, make an empty folder on your hdd and select it as the target then come back and burn the folder with nero or some other burning rom that will let you burn at 4x or slower.
