Hello! I don't know where to turn and I apologize if I've stumbled upon an incorrect forum. I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder/VCR and a few of my (unfinalized) DVDs that I am in the process of making suddenly can no longer be read! The message on the TV says CAN'T READ. CHECK DISC. I can't check them in another DVD player because they have not been finalized yet. I'm afraid that if I try to have the problem checked out, the DVD Recorder repair place will say the DVDs are bad and if I go to get the DVDs checked out, that store will say the recorder is bad! I have tried a CD repair lotion which didn't help and I emailed Panasonic, which never replied. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
What is the brand name of the media you are using on that panasonic? I've got a cyberhome recorder and I coastered out a lot of verbatim- Ricohjpn-01,sony +4x, and memorex discs. Some of them were finalized and still couldn't be recognized on that burner and on my stand alones a few weeks later. Moving up to the verbatim datalife plus +8x took care of majority of my problems. I burn a ton of dvd's on my Pc, but I first started out with that tv home burner and found out how media quality was critical. The same applies to pc burning. Another thing to check, Insert that backup disc into your panasonic. Shut off the power switch for a minute-with the disc still in it, and then turn the power back on to see if it will recognize it. On my home burner, I have to do this to watch any of my backups. Mine's a piece of crap recorder, LOL
