I am experiencing a problem with some of the DVDs I burn and don't know if it's a software or hardware (burner, player) problem. I've burned a lot of movies in the past and when I place them in the player, the player reads it and immediately it begins playing the movie. Recently, I've noticed that when I place a DVD in the player, it takes 20 to 25 seconds to load up the movie and the movie won't load on both players in my house. However, once the movie does load, it plays fine. I wasn't sure if something was wrong with the lead in or what. Thank y'all for the help:)

I meant to add that I'm just Shrink to create ISO files then burning them with Nero 6.6.0.18 (Burning Rom). I have a Sony burner with the most recent firmware and are using Sony DVD-Rs. Thanks again

How old are your players? You may need to replace them or just simply clean them. If your players do things like jump back to previous chapters or freeze. Do you having trouble playing both + and -R I would recommend new players. Newer DVD players play both + & - disc.:p

The DVD player is about three months old and it's a good Sony player. Also, I don't have problems watching the movie once it's load...it just takes forever to load up and on my player (which is a little over 4 months old) the movie won't load at all...it just keeps displaying the reading disc prompt. The strange thing is that it never did this before and it just suddenly started happening. Thanks for the advice...anyone have any more?

Are your movies from transferred formats like AVI, DivX, JPEG, or online downloads. If so this could be your problem as well as backing up movies from corupted files or a badly recorded source DVD. I have SONY players as well and they play all my back ups fine.:p Oh, What type of media (Blank Disc?) are you using.:p

i'd say let's have a look at a Nero log, but it sounds more like the dvd player is trying to tell you something, if the movie eventually plays..

let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

and i'll teleport this thread to the Nero forum..

try using dvd decrypter as your burning program AFTER you encode with dvd shrink instead of using nero or updating your nero

try using better blank media also (Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim) are your best choices.

or you could even try a different program like clonedvd 2 with anydvd

should be an easy fix , i dont think its your dvd player

dont run other program while burn either (unless your running a dual core CPU then your ok)
