I'm not sure at all if I'm posting under the correct area, but I couldn't find any options, sorry.

I'm looking for DVD player software and was hoping I could get a consensus on which player is best, preferred. The only two I've heard of are PowerDVD or WinDVD. I think I need just the standard or deluxe, but will decide the details, once I'm sure of which player.

    Thank you for your time

It's not black and white, mostly comes down to individual preferences.
If you look at the reviews of these products, they both do very well.

I was hoping someone would have an alternative, if there is one, to these.

    TY for your response

Well there's always VLC or MPC-HC - free alternatives.

i personally use windows media player with K-lite codecs and that seems to work fine.I watch movies in windows media player classic.ive got power DVD but for some reason i cant get any sound on it (could be something to do with windows 7) so i personally dont recommend it.havnt try winDVD but ive heard alot of good stuff about vlc on these forums.

I tried windows media player awhile back on another PC. It would do fine, but when I burned a copy of a dvd, it kept saying the dvd was protected, but it had no problems with the same dvd not burned. That and the fact the it was a memory pig. Thinking about it now, Im sure power and win dvd are as well. I tried MPC-HC and liked it, unfortunently it has the same problem with copies.

    TY :)
