My sisters DVD Player is able to play DVD burns from Imgburn that take 4 minutes to burn. It creates ISO Image file to DVD-r in minutes and doesn't require converting. My DVD Player requires using VSO DivxtoDVD and then burning which takes 2 hours. Does anyone know what DVD Players can play the Iso Image files without formatting first? Thanks!
My sisters DVD Player is 3 years old and I can't find one. I did find a model almost identical but it doesn't have region free. What will region free mean .. Will it interfere with ISO play?
Region free just means it will play dvds from any region of the world. The US and Canada are region 1. Not sure how the other regions break up. It shouldn't have anything to do with the player playing an iso image. Take a disc, with an iso image on it, to the store, and see what players will play it. I would guess that some of the $30 and $40 players will play it. They seem to play almost everything you throw at them. The more a player costs, the pickier it is, about what it plays.
An ISO should play on any DVD player, it is simply a container that has all the relevant DVD structure inside it. Does the same player play a DVD that is burned from a VIDEO_TS folder of the same content burned on the same brand blanks? I wouldn't worry about region codes as much as the frame rates, I would look for a DVD player that is capable of playing both PAL and NTSC formatted discs...removing the region code is a pretty easy task.
