Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm in need of some help.

I have a .avi file, I've converted it to DVD Format and burned, but it won't play on my friend's DVD player because it's Region Free. I'm not looking to unlock my DVD player, I just want to add the NTSC Code into the file (Not sure if that's the right terminology), so it will play on my friend's player. Is there a step by step tutorial anywhere?

    Any help is greatly appreciated,
    Thanks.

No burned DVD has region coding.
And no DVD player will reject a DVD that has no region code.

The NTSC part refers to the television video standard in use in your country.
Japan and North America use NTSC, but they are different regions as far as the people who make commercial movies available on DVD.

If you elected to make an NTSC DVD (because you and your friend live in North America) then the DVD should play on their standalone player (does it play in their PC?).
If it doesn't play on their DVD player, it may be because their player doesn't accept the disk type (DVD-R or DVD+R), or that perhaps the disk has burning errors that your player can cope with and theirs cannot.
