Hello, hope this is ther right place for this!

I downloaded a movie and burned it using ConvertXtoDVD.

Now, when I put it in my DVD player. A Magnavox MDV-458. There was a little window in the top left part of the TV screen with the first 5 seconds or so, of the movie playing, like a preview. And the name of the disc. But, I couldn't play it!! There was no cursor, I couldn't highlight anything.

So, is this a burning problem, like I didn't do the menu right.

Or, door number 2. Is it a player problem??

Hoped I explained it good enough to get some feedback!

O' and the discs I am using are Sony DVD+R, 4.7 GB. Would this have something to do with it!! I have burned 2 of them with the same result.

I am kinda lost, cause, I am not sure what way to go or what to do.

    Thanks for any insight, Jamie75

What do you mean downloaded movie files? I downloaded an avi. ConvertXtoDVD converted it to mpeg4, which is what format it needs to be in for a DVD player to read it, right?? ConvertXtoDVD also burned the disc.

Yes, my dvd player will play them!! I just checked my user manual to make sure!

    It was burned at 8x.

Make sure you have set NTSC or PAL, whichever applies to where you live in the world, in convertx's options.

convertxtodvd doesnt output mpeg4, its mpeg2 dvd compliant

just do main movie no menus...

try booktyping the dvd+R to dvd-rom when burning.
