hello. i have a HL-TD-ST DVDRAM GMA4082N ATA DEVICE with firmware version 6.0.6000.16386. i burned some clips on a ritek dvd-r 8X 4.7 gb disc. it works well on my pc but doesnt work in the dvd player or my ps2(which is chipped). oh.. and i used nero 8 to create the dvd files and later used dvd shrink and burned the dvd. what am i to do? please help.
Verify that you set Nero to produce NTSC (North America) or PAL (EU & Australasia) video files. A PAL disk (generally) won't play in an NTSC standalone player.
i set it to pal or ntsc in nero but still the same result. then i set it to ntsc only and still its not working. and oh, i almost forgot to add this but after i was done creating the dvd files with nero i compressed them using dvd shrink and chose region free option. so its not pal or ntsc fault right?
If you are in North America - you must create NTSC video. Either install Imgburn and burn the disk (using the files that DVD Shrink created - either a folder or .iso image) set the burning speed to 4x or half the disks rated speed. Or Use DVD Flick to convert the files and allow it to burn the disk - 4x or half rated speed. Or change to a different brand ('Verbatim' for choice and burn - 4x or half the rated speed)
im not in north america. and my ps2 is chipped so it should be able to play both ntsc and pal yeah? and i have tried burning at 4X speed and it still doesnt work. i will try switching brand and see how it works.
